Key Projects of VEMEC

The Veterans Emergency Management Evaluation Center (VEMEC) is engaged in a growing number of projects that seek to:

  • Identify and mitigate public health preparedness and response problems that jeopardize continuity of Veterans' care
  • Improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability of VA's emergency management system
  • Promote disaster resilience among Veterans and their communities
  • Enhance international, national, state and local emergency management, public health, safety, and homeland security efforts
