Community Engagement Sessions for Those Affected by the Red Hill JP-5 Releases
On June 25,2025, the Health and Medicine Division of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will host two meetings at the O’ahu Veterans Center in Honolulu, HI, to hear from individuals impacted by the 2021 Red Hill Storage Facility fuel leaks — including military families, civilians, employees, providers, and public health officials. Input will inform an independent study about health risks associated with the leaks and recommendations to the government regarding clinical follow-up for those exposed.
