Health Outcomes Military Exposures
As part of VA's Office of Patient Care Services, Health Outcomes Military Exposures (HOME) (formerly Post Deployment Health Services) administers various programs related to environmental and occupational exposures of U.S. Veterans during military service, including Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation New Dawn (OEF/OIF/OND), Gulf War, Vietnam, World War II and atomic Veterans activities. HOME also maintains several registries based on these exposures.
HOME is a VA-delivered core service. It also manages the War Related Illness and Injury Study Center, which provides clinical care, research, and education for Veterans with deployment-related health concerns. HOME also includes the Toxic Embedded Fragment Surveillance Center and the Depleted Uranium Follow-up Program, both at the Baltimore VA Medical Center.
Programs
HOME consists of two interrelated programs.
